On Thursday 2 September the first online Stagebeurs071 will take place. Students from mboRijnland location Leiden and recognised training companies from Leiden, Katwijk and the Duin- en Bollenstreek region can get to know each other. Companies are called upon to register internships and apprenticeships before the summer holidays via the websitewww.stagebeurs071.nl. Students of mboRijnland Leiden can orientate on the offer until the end of August and plan one-on-one conversations via a handy system. On 2 September these interviews will take place during the online internship fair.
Major challenge
Otto Jelsma, chairman mboRijnland: ‘Immediately after the summer, we need a lot of work placements. It’s about postponed internships by COVID and internships for the new batch of students. To make an optimal match between supply and demand, we’re organising the internship fair from Stagepact071. We hope many companies will sign up with one or preferably more internships. If companies from the region work together with us, we can meet this challenge.
Entrepreneurs like to get in touch with young talent. After the summer, it is hoped that this will be possible again in the old and familiar way. The entrepreneurs’ associations in the region therefore wholeheartedly support the trainee exchange. We think it’s a good thing that the link between the demand from the company and the supply from the educational institutes is being considered. However, a lot of registrations are needed, so that an optimal link can be made. We therefore call on all companies with BOL or BBL traineeships to register before the summer.
Nico Tates, Chairman Entrepreneurial Leiden
Getting to know
Applying for a traineeship can be done easily via www.stagebeurs071.nl. Recognised training companies that have applied are presented on this website. Students of mboRijnland Leiden can orientate themselves there and read in advance what a company has to offer and what they are looking for. Do they see a nice work placement? Then they make an appointment via a reserved time slot. This meeting then takes place online on Thursday 2 September. The internship fair starts at 15:30 with a collective online welcome via Teams. Subsequently, one-on-one conversations between companies and students will take place. The afternoon ends at 17:15 with a fun conclusion. Companies that participate will receive a clear instruction for participation.
Internship and recognition.
Companies that cannot be present online can contact the internship hunter Cynthia Romijn. She will then set about finding a link between supply and demand. She can be reached via stagejager@economie071.nl.
Companies that want to become an accredited work placement company can contact the SBB (Samenwerkingsorganisatie Beroepsonderwijs Bedrijfsleven). This can be done via the website s-bb.nl.

Stagebeurs071 is an initiative of Economy071 as part of Stagepact071. This pact was started because of the large internship shortage that has arisen due to COVID. It connects existing local initiatives from education, entrepreneurs’ associations and municipalities for a strong regional structure. In addition, a number of extra steps are being taken where necessary. The goal is to realise 1,000 work placements for students at all levels. This is important for students in order to obtain their diplomas, but certainly also for companies. It is an opportunity for them to come into contact with young talent, the employees of the future. In addition, a well-functioning labour market with sufficiently trained personnel is important for a strong regional economy.
