New creative space ‘The Bird’s Nest’ at Leiden Bio Science Park

Het Vogelnest

The Bird’s Nest is a multifunctional space that is homey in design. It aims to draw visitors out of their office environment and inspire them to get creative. The space is over 30m2, can be flexibly divided and has a kitchenette and toilet, WIFI and a presentation screen.

“We want to provide a place where people can escape the office environment for a while”

– Tessa van Straaten, co-founder of The Bird’s Nest

Between the trees and the birds

The Vogelnest is located on top of coffee bar VRIJ and, like the ground floor, consists entirely of reused sea containers. Its high location allows you to meet or brainstorm between the trees and the birds. And if you want to get some fresh air, you can visit the adjoining roof terrace of over 30 m2.

You don’t build a bird’s nest overnight.

The space takes its name from a particularly creative process: the construction of a bird’s nest. Anyone who has ever seen a bird at work understands that it takes creativity and focus. An ideal name, then, as far as the founders are concerned.

“With The Bird’s Nest, we want to provide a space that encourages focus and creativity”

– Erwin Slierings, co-founder of The Bird’s Nest

Want to know more?

The Bird’s Nest can be rented from €65 per hour and is rented in half-days. Rent includes filter coffee, tea and water. Of course, upon request, VRIJ can provide your brainstorming session or team meeting with lunch, snacks and treats.
