From Thursday 24 June onwards a new situation applies on the A44 in the direction of Amsterdam, then exits 9 and 8 will be combined. Traffic from direction Wassenaar that want to use exit 8 (Leiden-West) will have to make their choice at exit 9 (Leiden-South). This road modification is one of the steps that will be carried out in the coming months to prepare for the construction of the definitive road layout at junction Leiden-West. In order to construct the new situation we will carry out work in the evening/night beforehand and exits 9 and 8 on the carriageway towards Amsterdam will be closed.
Exit 9/8 on A44 towards Amsterdam closed on 23/24 June
On Wednesday 23 June, exits 9 (Leiden-Zuid) and 8 (Leiden-West) on the A44 in the direction of Amsterdam will be closed from 21.00 until 05.00 the next morning. Also one lane will be closed. One lane towards Amsterdam will remain available.
The works
The work includes milling and applying asphalt. The milling in particular can be heard in the immediate vicinity.
Diversion
During the closure of exits 9 and 8, traffic will be diverted via junction Oegstgeest (7).
Reserve evening/night
A reserve evening/night has been scheduled for the following day (Thursday, 24 June from 21:00 to 05:00 the next morning) if unforeseen (weather) conditions prevent the work from taking place.
