SMEs: get going with digitisation!

SMEs face a number of challenges in the coming years. Think about sustainability, digitalisation and finding the right people on the labour market. The province wants to support entrepreneurs in keeping up with these changes. They are making budgets available for customised work at the regional level so that entrepreneurs can make a conscious choice as to whether or not they will go digital.

By and for entrepreneurs

Economy071 applied for and was awarded theme for digitisation. An initiative is now being launched with which the SMEs in the region can get to work with the opportunities that digitisation offers. By and for entrepreneurs, facilitated by Economy071.

To steer the initiative in the right direction, Dwayne van der Klugt has been appointed project leader until the end of 2022. “Together with the entrepreneurs’ associations and municipalities, I will help entrepreneurs to cash in on digitalisation opportunities, by collecting the questions of the entrepreneurs and finding suitable solutions for them, says Dwayne.

Self-scan

The project starts by making it clear(er) to SMEs what digitisation entails. “What are the themes, the opportunities and the possibilities for digitisation. Entrepreneurs also get the chance to perform a self-scan to see which opportunities, and sometimes threats, are relevant to them,” explains Dwayne.

Voucher en coaching

Then we help them with the first digitalisation steps by giving workshops. When entrepreneurs then want to go further, to test and implement things, they can get a voucher to hire an expert to help them further. A coaching programme is available, so that entrepreneurs can spar and think about what the right route is for them. After all, that can be different for each SME.”

Surfing safely with two-step verification

By setting two-step verification you add an extra layer of security to your whatsapp, email account or internet account you use. There are different forms of two-step verification, also called security key, double security or authentication. One is an access code that is sent to a trusted device of yours to log in. Your user name and password alone are no longer sufficient for hackers to gain access to your account.
