Work on Einsteinweg from 6 May

After being away for about two years, a number of works will take place again next year from BAM Infra in the area around Leiden Bio Science Park.

Work on Einsteinweg

Einsteinweg between Zernikedreef and Ehrenfestweg will be closed to through traffic from Monday 6 May due to roadworks. The work area consists of 2 phases, 2A on the north side of Einsteinweg and then phase 2B on the south side. The work is expected to last until early August 2024.

Work on phase 2A

Closure from Monday 6 May until early June

During the work in phase 2A, we are breaking up the entire carriageway, cycle path and footpath. To make the sewer future-proof, we will install an additional manhole, a culvert and rainwater drainage. The culvert will connect the two ditches. Then we also lay asphalt.

The work is expected to last from 6 May to early June. During this work, the work area will be completely closed and there will be a diversion for motorised traffic, cyclists and pedestrians, as shown in the drawing.

Work on phase 2B

Closure from early June to early August

During the works in phase 2B, we are working on the new layout. We will install street work, place signs and new lampposts.

These works are expected to last from early June to early August. During these works, the work area will be closed and a diversion for traffic has been put in place. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to pass by the work area.
